MAN ProfiDrive: sector-specific training to meet customer requirements

With its new training program, MAN ProfiDrive is now focussing more than ever on individual customer requirements. The new sector-specific training has been developed in collaboration with customers and addresses economy, driving safety and the securing of cargo for particular transport assignments. The first sector-specific training took place for hauliers employed by UPM GmbH at the MAN Truck & Bus test site in Munich.

MAN opens new dealerships in Morocco with a caravan of trucks

On 17 October, a caravan of trucks mobilised by MAN and SEFAMAR, the Munich-based manufacturer’s importer, departed Agadir on a trek across Morocco. The convoy of five trucks – two long-haul transport road trains, a refuse collector vehicle and two tippers – covered 1700 kilometres over 10 days, stopping at five cities along the way: Agadir, Marrakech, El Jadida, Nador and Tangier. The stopovers also coincided with the opening of new MAN dealerships in Agadir, Nador and Tangier.

Intelligent integrated networking: the focus of the joint IMAGinE project (intelligent automation of manoeuvres– cooperative risk prevention in real-time) lies on increasing the safety of all road users. In future, vehicles communicating with each other in real-time will form the basis for a cooperative interplay in road traffic.

German Ski Association relies on MAN TGX

On 20th October, MAN Truck & Bus handed over two MAN TGXs to the German Ski Association (DSV). The 500 hp semitrailer tractors are equipped with a new combination of the automated MAN TipMatic gearbox and the MAN HydroDrive hydrostatic front-wheel drive which was unveiled for the first time at IAA 2016. These vehicles, with their added traction and greater driving safety, even on slippery surfaces, will be travelling with Germany’s biathletes and cross-country skiers to Skiing World Cup events, where they will serve as mobile workshops.
