Janine Strecker, via the #MANiaa Diaries at the IAA Commercial Vehicles exhibition in Hanover, delivers fascinating insights into the world of MAN. The employee from the MAN Experience Marketing Team presents the product highlights from the MAN stand, where the truck manufacturer showcases its fleet as a forward-thinking, modern, colourful and cosmopolitan outfit.
A flurry of camera flashes and a round of applause: tension mounts as the curtain is drawn and MAN unveils one of the world premieres at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2016 in Hanover: the MAN TGE. The Transporter, the latest addition to the MAN family, is revealed to the public and to the cameras. This moment is captured on film for the #MANiaa Diaries, MAN’s exhibition diary, which Janine is updating for the online community throughout the fair in Hanover.
‘Our new vehicle may be small but it’s still a proper MAN,’ declares Janine as she welcomes the new MAN TGE. MAN has expanded its range with this latest addition to become a ‘full-range’ supplier, offering commercial vehicles of between three and 44 tonnes. With a permissible maximum weight of 3.0 to 5.5 tonnes, the MAN TGE presents itself as a lightweight, multipurpose commercial vehicle. Its variety can also be seen in the options available for drives and bodywork; front-wheel, rear-wheel and four-wheel drive – the possibilities are endless. And just like its bigger truck siblings, the smallest member of the MAN fleet also ensures the highest standards of safety thanks to the tried-and-trusted MAN assistance systems.
Of course, the strongest lion must also make an appearance in the #MANiaa Diaries. With 640 h.p. and 3,000 Nm, the MAN TGX PerformanceLine not only delivers performance for the big stage. Stylishly presented as part of a stunning light show, this powerhouse combines all of the product innovations that MAN brings to the market with its new TG series. An optimised engine program, a new exterior design, a new infotainment system. With the distinct interior design of the MAN TGX PerformanceLine, there is a strong emphasis on the lion, which is now also imprinted on the vehicle’s seats. ‘A limited-edition vehicle for real fans,’ explains Janine.
The MAN TGX EfficientLine 3 also has its fair share of admirers. The third generation of the successful MAN EfficientLine series uses 6.35% less fuel than its predecessor, the MAN TGX EfficientLine 2.
Bags are packed and enthused bus fans get on board as Janine plays a clip and invites visitors along on a trip in the new NEOPLAN Tourliner. The best in its class, and thus the entry-level model in the premium coach segment, celebrates its world premiere in Hanover. The Tourliner combines perfect design, high-end comfort and state-of-the-art technology, and thus sets the ideal scene for climbing aboard, leaning back and relaxing.
‘Welcome to the colourful world of RIO.’ Janine steps on to the innovative platform for digital solutions that MAN dedicates to the new brand of Volkswagen Truck & Bus at the IAA. ‘RIO’ is Spanish for ‘river’. Here one speaks of transport and logistics, and you get the ideal scenario when everything flows: goods, traffic and data. With the colourful world of RIO, MAN presents digital products and services that help to optimise logistics processes and efficiently control commodity flows by way of intelligent networking. From 2017 onwards, every new MAN truck will have the technical requirements for this. The course for the logistics of the future was set long ago, and not just in Hanover.
