Qatar International Automobiles launches the new MAN TGS WW in Qatar

Germany’s commercial vehicle manufacturer MAN introduces robust premium truck for challenging transport tasks in Qatar

Doha, June 08: Qatar International Automobiles (QIA), in cooperation with MAN Truck & Bus Middle East and Africa FZE, held a launch ceremony in Intercontinental Hotel to introduce the new MAN truck model, TGS WW, in Qatar.

The ceremony was attended by H.E Sheikh Mohamed Bin Fahed Al-Thani, H.E Sheikh Fahed Bin Mohamed Al-Thani, H.E Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohamed Al-Thani. Member of the Executive Board of MAN Truck & Bus AG, Dr. Frank Hiller, flew in from Germany to attend this special event. MAN management in the Middle East was represented by Markus Geyer, Head of Sales Region Middle East & Africa and David van Graan, Head of MAN Centre Middle East. The ceremony was also attended by many other MAN and QIA executives as well as a large crowd of business representatives.

“The MAN TGS WW continues the success story of the MAN TGA WorldWide, which has found large numbers of satisfied customers in over forty countries outside Europe since its introduction in 2003, thanks to its ruggedness and its load-carrying capacity on rough roads and extreme climatic conditions. In the new TGS WW, these strengths are combined with levels of comfort and safety not seen before, enhancing the value of the vehicle still further,” said Markus Geyer.

The hosts showcased the special features and abilities of the TGS-WW which is specifically designed to suit the particular climate and road conditions found in the Middle East. Muheeb Sawaked, QIA Deputy General Manager, said “QIA is proud to introduce this new MAN product from the Trucknology Generation® to the Qatari market which will prove its robustness, safety and economical transport through the toughest of operations. QIA is confident to present this premium truck along with premium After Sales offerings as per the high German MAN service standards to suit the requirements of our valued customers.” He invited the participants to personally inspect the displayed truck models at the ceremony and to learn more about this unique product.

The TGS WW series includes variants with gross vehicle weights from 18 to 41 tonnes. These can be combined with three variants of the comfortable driver's cab. Equipped with efficient Euro 2 and 3 Common-Rail MAN D20 and D26 in-line six-cylinder engines delivering from 265 kW to 360 kW (350 hp to 480 hp), the TGS WW provides solutions for powerful and economical transport.

Joerg Bauch, MAN Area Sales Manager stated, “for power and reliability and shifting comfort, drivers can rely on a 12-speed MAN TipMatic® automated manual transmission, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Lane Guard System (LGS) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). The TGS WW is available in 4x2, 4x4, 6x2-2, 6x4, 6x6, 8x4 and 8x8 configurations with hub-reduction axles and trapezoidal/parabolic suspension for optimized traction and durability. Further, the interior of the MAN TGS WW has been completely redesigned to set standards in ergonomics and quality.”

The MAN TGS WW comes onto the market in the new design, one that is distinguished by precision and dynamics. Thanks to its aerodynamic fine-tuning, reduced fuel consumption, extensive protection against corrosion, the MAN TGS WW enables its operators to fulfil their transport tasks through efficiency, safety, economy and reliability.
