Championship celebrations with the MAN convertible
Never before in the history of the German Bundesliga has a club secured the title as early as FC Bayern Munich. The last match day of the 2013/2014 season saw the team celebrate its title following the home game against VfB Stuttgart with a procession through downtown Munich. The Bayern pros made their way through the city in an MAN convertible truck specially made for these occasions.
The team showed off their shield to their fans during the triumphal procession – and really let loose on the MAN convertible. “The team has truly earned these celebrations after such a great and successful season. I am all the more pleased that we have been able to get this procession off the ground with our partner,” said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Executive Board Chairman of FC Bayern München AG.
Party-proof MAN convertible
MAN engineers designed the convertible truck to be “party-proof” – the truck has an extra platform with railings especially to provide the players, coaches, and officials with enough room to party. And it had to come with a bar and a DJ stand. The convertible model is so special because it gives the fans a perfect view of all their stars and allows them to celebrate up close with them.
MAN employees celebrate with the stars
As was the case with the treble celebrations back in 2013, the triumphal procession set off from outside the MAN Corporate Center on Munich’s Ungererstraße. As an official partner of FC Bayern Munich, MAN came up with a special highlight: 400 employees formed an MAN fan club to loudly cheer on the stars. With this, MAN is demonstrating once again the claim displayed around the stadium during the season: “Moving Munich? We are your MAN.”
