MAN TGX wins double Irish honours
MAN has been honoured with two awards from the Emerald Isle. MAN TGX EfficientLine named "Irish Truck of the Year 2012" at Fleet Transport Awards. MAN TGX 26.440 voted "Fleet Truck of the Year" by Export & Freight.
The Irish commercial vehicles magazine Fleet Transport compared long-haul semitrailer tractors designed for transport efficiency and low exhaust-gas emissions by several different manufacturers. The result of the evaluation and test drives saw the experts crowning the MAN TGX EfficientLine as the victor. Quality, driving comfort, safety, innovations, service and in particular fuel economy were all factors in favour of MAN. In the presence of 625 representatives from the Irish road transport and logistics industry, Michael Hynes, Managing Director of MAN Importers Ireland, was happy with the honour: "MAN is totally customer focused and TGX ticks all the boxes with design, comfort and economy."
For ten years now, the transport magazine Export & Freight has been conferring the "Transport & Logistics Award" to provide a platform of recognition for the transport industry on the island of Ireland. There are currently awards in 16 categories, with the category for fleet vehicles having been added only recently. In autumn, the MAN TGX 26.440 with XLX cab was recognised as "Fleet Truck of the Year 2011". This is the three-axle semitrailer tractor version widely operated in the UK and Ireland. With a gross train weight of 44 tonnes, this configuration complies with the statutory requirements concerning axle loads.
