MAN to supply twenty-two rolling communication centers for the World Cup
Vehicles will promote security during the FIFA World Cup in Brazil
MAN Latin America will be making a contribution to security management during the FIFA World Cup event in Brazil. Twenty-two trucks from the Constellation 15.190 series are to be used as rolling communication centers in the twelve host cities. The vehicles are equipped with a 190-hp MAN engine and high-grade technology for exhaust-gas aftertreatment. They are ideally suited for operations involving short or medium distances which call for high speed and maneuverability.
Truckvan, one of Brazil’s largest manufacturers of custom-built trailers and semi-trailers, has fitted each chassis with a raised observation deck. The integrated video surveillance system includes fourteen cameras providing sharp pictures of objects over a distance of up to three kilometers. The system is located under a fully-automatic cover plate on a 15-meter high telescopic mast. The mast, ventilation, lamps, sirens and all other system functions are operated from the control room, which is equipped with surveillance monitors.
In addition, each truck has a separate Wi-Fi and wireless network connection. Within a radius of 500 meters, policemen can follow the video recordings live on their tablets or mobile telephones at any time. The devices immediately transmit important data to both the integrated control centers and regional command centers. This special-purpose vehicle was recently presented for the first time on the MAN Latin America stand at the LAAD Security Exhibition 2014 in Rio de Janeiro.
