Elisabete Jacinto climbs to the podium again with MAN TGS on Africa Eco Race
Portuguese team finishes in third place on the category T4
The 7th edition of the Africa Eco Race has come to an end yesterday, with a successful ending to Elisabete Jacinto and her team on the MAN TGS, which achieved the 3rd position on the category T4 and the 14th place on the overall standings. This is the fifth podium conquered by Elisabete, in seven participations on the competition.
The Portuguese pilot was very pleased with the results accomplished in what she considered “one of the roughest rally” she ever participated on: “We are very happy to finish in third amongst the trucks, and in 14th in the overall standings. Actually, I am as happy as if I had wined. We had several problems during the competition, but it’s the way we deal with setbacks that defines our place in the final classification. The team has gained a new breath in this race and we have reasons to congratulate ourselves”.
The 2016 edition of this race had 12 stages, throughout approximately 6.000 kilometers, and it was considered especially demanding, particularly after entering Mauritania. However, the Portuguese team kept a steady pace, overcoming all obstacles, even in the toughest terrains, with her MAN TGS.
