Bedfordshire & Luton Fire & Rescue Service has added four MAN TGM 13.280BL 4x4 fire appliances in what the Service sees as a growing requirement to operate vehicles with a ‘multi-role’ capability. The compact 13 tonners are designed for rural fire-fighting duties, but will also be used as front line ‘urban’ machines.

Owens Switches to Add Nothing

In a £1 million investment, Owens (Road Services) in Llanelli has replaced eight of its fleet with new MAN TGX 26.440BLS 6x2 tractor units, with a further 12 on order for 2009. The company says that MAN’s EGR ‘Add Nothing’ engine technology was a ‘big factor’ in its decision to select MAN, while referring to AdBlue as proving ‘very costly’ for its other trucks.
